Gary is a furniture designer with an uncompromising approach to his art. With
studies in industrial design and having trained as a fine furniture craftsman
himself, it is with the same resolve that his designs are enthusiastically
received. Gary has had the pleasure of exhibiting his work at the International
Furniture Fair in Milan and regularly participates in headlining exhibitions
throughout Australia.
Since establishing his practice in 2000, Gary has worked on numerous private
commissions where personal clients and industry alike have enjoyed his passionate
but informed approach to furniture design.
"The design process, which interests me, is the modest pursuit of honesty,
purity and refinement of the everyday by exploring new solutions to common
objects that can enrich people's lives. The opportunity designers have to
create objects that can be enjoyed by people everywhere and everyday is a
privilege. Well-designed and well-made products are not disposed of but collected,
cherished, passed on and recycled into new times and new environments."
In its first collaboration with Gary, Beclau is pleased to introduce the new
Parelho range. The elegant yet minimal lines of the Parelho table and sideboard
retain a modern simplicity ensuring its appropriateness for contemporary living.
